Nessie is the well known and written about monster who lives in the depths of Loch Ness. Loch Ness is a large freshwater loch which is linked to the Moray coast at Inverness and the west coast near Fort William by the Caledonian Canal so has plenty of visitors. This monster takes the form of a Plesiosaur dinosaur type creature but we also make a Green coloured Sea Serpent as Morag the Monster of Loch Morar.
 
Our Nessie/Plesiosaur is made from Lime wood and measures approximately 20.5cm long by 12cm high and 2.8cm thick. Like all our products it is cut out then hand carved and painted so each is slightly individual in character and therefore will slightly differ from the product images. Please bear in mind you are purchasing a hand crafted item and minor manufacturing marks, carving misshaps or paint errors are not seen as flaws but as enhancing each items individual character.
 
It can be wiped clean using a slightly damp lint free cloth and we recommend refinishing occasionally with a child safe EN71-3 certified clear wax or other sealer to extend its protection.  The primer we use is plant starch based, the stains are from a small company making them from food dyes and food ingredients, the paints used are sold as children's watercolours and we use 3 coats of a EN71-3 certified as child safe clear hard wax oil sealer for protection.
 
We make and test our products to be UKCA conformant for those aged 3 years and over who no longer mouth toys due to the risk of small parts forming and our base wood not being tested.
